Any word on how the video of the play is coming along and/or when we might expect to be able to get a copy if we want one?

Thanks!

Hi Joe,
The last I spoke with Thiago, we are tentatively expecting a final mix by the middle of October. With 8 hours of footage and deciding on the best mix for each shot, it takes some time to go through. Early indications are that sound & picture quality are pretty good. So at this point I'm hopeful that the final product will be something of which we can be proud.

After the video is completed, I'll first want the Magnolia Arts Center board's review on how we handle this. We have to consider whether to copyright the finished product and what distribution or expense is involved. Because the final product is "owned" by MAC, I'm not sure how soon it will be before we're ready to see what the best method of distribution is. We've even talked about having the entire DVD or a clip available on the MAC website for viewing. So there are a lot of options, but the Board first has to look at the quality and then make a decision on what to do with it. That said, when I can, I'll hope to invite the cast over to see it. I'm SO looking forward to it.

Maybe the Singing Gobin could break out in a chorus of "The Post-Production Blues."

Hope "All in the Timing" is going well! I'm looking forward to seeing your show in October and have included it on our MAC calendar.

Thanks for all your hard work during the show.

Lee

We got an update on the video from Lee last Board Meeting and he will be working closely with the maker to complete this project.???? The current state of the material is sub-par and we don't want to release anything that isn't what we want. More information will be available in a while.

Joe,
The cut that Thiago used was just to have his one camera that was over behind the wine shop be the total DVD. There was no editing between the different shots. Actors walk offcamera and have part of a scene, while Thiago's camera stares ahead at the empty set. I was not happy. I've talked with Thiago who is busy -- so am I -- and I hope he will let me get together with him and see if we can get anything edited to where a viewer can follow the play. I think the project was well conceived, it just hasn't come to look too good at this point. I'm going to keep trying, until we get to the point where we say, "This is as good as it gets." I hope Thiago will be willing to work with me.
Thanks,
Lee
