Fahrenheit 451 is Ray Bradbury's classic novel-turned-play of censorship and defiance, as resonant today as it was when it was first published nearly 50 years ago.
Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires...
The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning ... along with the houses in which they were hidden.
Guy Montag enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for ten years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs nor the joy of watching pages consumed by flames... never questioned anything until he met a seventeen-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid.
Then he met a professor who told him of a future in which people could think... and Guy Montag suddenly realized what he had to do!

"Frightening in its implications... Mr. Bradbury's account of this insane world, which bears many alarming resemblances to our own, is fascinating."

Twelve Angry Men
June 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26
All show times are 7:30 except Sunday, June 20 which is a 2:00 curtain
Music Academy of Eastern Carolina, 1400 Red Banks Road, Greenville

The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young man is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case of murder soon becomes a story of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

“[A] taut, absorbing, and compelling drama that reaches far beyond the close confines of its jury room setting.”

She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter Myrtle Mae and their family from future embarrassment.
