This comedy of errors is about an affable man Elwood P. Dowd and his imaginary friend Harvey, a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall rabbit. When Elwood starts to introduce Harvey to guests at a party, his society-obsessed sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter Myrtle Mae and their family from future embarrassment.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.  The advanced rate is good up until 5pm on the day of the show.

Ayden Community Theater Auditions

Auditions  for  DILEMMAS WITH DINNER, a fast paced comedy, will be held on August 15, 3:00 - 5:00 PM and August 16, 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Ayden Arts & Recreation Community Center, 4354 Lee St., Ayden.    The cast will consist of four men and four women.  Performance dates are:  October 15, 16, 22, and 23.  For more information, call Francine Strong at 355-6914 or email aydencommunitytheatre©yahoo.com

5th Annual Ten Minute Play Contest

Magnolia Arts Center is now accepting scripts for the Fifth Annual Ten Minute Play Contest.  Entries must be no longer than 10 minutes when read or performed.  A panel of judges will pick the top five entries which will receive a staged reading for the public in November.  A prize of $50 will be awarded to the winner as chosen by the audience.   Entries will be accepted until August 31.  Playwrights may submit original, non-published work to Magnolia Arts Center via mail or email - mail-in entries are $3 and electronic submissions are $5.  Click here for FULL contest rules and submission guidelines.
